"Unchained Spirit"

Bronze.  26" x 22" x 14"

Man's inhumanity to man was never more exemplified than in the plight of Geronimo.  He witnessed the murder of his first family at the hands of Mexicans; the U.S. army relentlessly pursued him across the southwest; later stripped him of all possessions, shackled and imprisoned him in subhuman conditions.

In spite of all this, those who interviewed him as an old man were amazed at the vitality and the lust for life that he still exhibited.

"Unchained Spirit" is my tribute to the power and determination of the human will.
