The maquette for the life-size bronze statue entitled “Heroic Challenges” is 14” tall and there are 20 available with any tax-deductible donation of $5,000 or more. All proceeds will be used to fund the life-size statue which will be installed at the new Veterans Sports Court at the Prescott V.A. Hospital. This project has been undertaken by my fellow Marines of the Prescott detachment of the Marine Corps League who had the vision to create a sports park where wounded veterans can play, engage in competitive activities, and learn to move onward and upward with their personal challenges.
The model for this sculpture is Alex Minsky, a 24 year-old Marine veteran who epitomizes the vision for this park. He lost his right leg to an IED in Afghanistan, suffered traumatic brain injury as well as various shrapnel wounds, spent 47 days in a coma, 18 months in the hospital. He was faced with relearning how to think, talk, walk and live. His physical and emotional healing and recovery continued in the gym and he has since become a fitness model with a desire to inspire. Thank you Alex, for your service to your country and to your fellow Marines.
Please contact me to reserve a bronze maquette numbered 1 – 20, or to make a donation of any amount to the 501(c)(3) charity which is funding this project. Your purchase/donation is tax-deductible.
